These are the stupidest things President Bush has ever said. And you think this is bad? Try searching for videos of Bush circulating in the internet and maybe, just maybe, you'd learn to appreciate our very own President more.

The first time I heard this was in the movie Coach Carter. It was one of the great climatic moment in the film when Timo Cruz stood up in the gym during their study session and told Coach Carter what his greatest fear was. What he said was profound and I thought that it was part of the screenplay, originally written by the screenwriter. But then I found out today in the internet that the real author of the quotation was
Marianne Williamson, and that it was quoted in her book, "Return to Love".
Here's the quote as written on her book:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light , not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make and manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

I've never seen my house this far before. Would you believe it took me an hour to figure out where it is? It was fun though. It reminded me of the time when I would scan a book with a magnifying glass trying to spot Wally Waldo. I can't believe Google Maps can be this addictive.

Sponge Cola dropped by the compound where we live in this afternoon, but they didn't stay for long. My sister and I where on our way to church when a car pulled up in front of my auntie's grocery store. The window on the front seat rolled down and a guy wearing a white shirt looked at the people who were standing besides the store and asked them "Saan po ang SM Bacoor?" We were already inside a tricycle cab when all of this happened. I managed to get a good look at the guy and realized that it was Yael, the lead singer of Sponge Cola. My sister didn't believe me at first when I told her that that was Yael. But she was convinced later when we went to SM to pay the bills. The whole band was there signing autographs to a jam packed crowd.
Nothing much really. I'm not a fanatic like the people who chased the band after they performed or my sister who memorized the plate number of the car that we saw. It's just strange when you see people you watch on MTV in person. Well there's one, and I see him every other day. Did you know that my PolSci 11 professor is the bassist of Sugarfree. Yup, Sir Jalton Taguibao... or Sir Jal to most of his students. I just saw him on ASAP right before we left the house. Sugarfree was performing Hari ng Sablay in SM Davao City along with the ABS-CBN stars. My sister was quick to point out that the Sandwich t shirt Sir Jal was wearing was the one he usually wears to school. Anyway, it must be hard for him to live double lives. He is usually absent whenever gigs clash with his class schedules. Still, he's an excellent prof, quite a terror. Which reminds me, we have a recitation tomorrow on Jose Migdal's state-society. Patay, di pa ako nakakapagbasa. Sana absent siya bukas. :)

Switchfoot, one of my favorite bands, is releasing a new album this September called Nothing is Sound. One of the tracks caught my attention. After listening to it I could only sigh and say to myself, "How true". Anyway, I wrote down the lyrics. I'm not sure if it's accurate but it's good enough for me. Tell me what you think about it.
Switchfoot
Nothing is Sound
Politicians
Everything is broken
Everything is broken
Everything is breaking down, breaking down
Everything is bleeding
Everything is bleeding
Everything is breaking down, breaking down
I pledge allegiance to a country without borders, without politicians
Watching for my sky get torn apart
We are broken, we are bitter
We're the problem, we're the politicans
Watching for our sky get torn apart
C'mon and break me
Entropy and aching
Where have we been aiming
Everything is fading now, fading now
We are the faded, spinning and sedated
Everything is fading now, fading now
I pledge allegiance to a country without borders, without politicians
Watching for my sky get torn apart
We are broken, we are bitter
We're the problem, we're the politicans
Watching for our sky get torn apart
C'mon and break me
C'mon and break me
I am broken, I am bitter
I'm the problem, I'm the politican
C'mon and break me
